Goal.com has recently aksed Marco van Basten to share his opinions on the Confederations Cup that started last weekend is South Africa.

When asked to point out the favourites, Van Basten stated: "It’s too close to call. I really don’t know who is going to win. We all know who the favourites are – the two European teams [Italy and Spain] and Brazil. It is safe to say the winners will be one of them."

"I know these teams so well and I know they are all capable of beating one another on their day. It all depends who performs in the big games when they meet. I am looking forward to the competition very much," concluded the former Ajax and Holland national team coach.
