Marco van Basten, ex Holland and Ajax manager, is rumoured to replace Michael Oenning as HSV Hamburg coach pretty shortly, Speigel informed yesterday's evening.

According to the media, Hamburg's sporting director Frank Arnesen has finally lost his patience, following very dissapointing start from the HSV, and decided yesterday to sack Oenning. Rodolfo Cardoso has taken on his duties as of now.

Speigel also reports that Van Basten's high wage demands could be a problem for Hamburg, who may not be able to afford the Dutch football legend. Other potential candidates listed by the media include include Bernd Schuster and Huub Stevens. Both of them have already expressed their desires to join the club.
